Join Partners of the Americas for an event full of learning and connecting
The 2025 What Works Lima Conference will provide attendees with meaningful, authentic, and positive international collaboration and community-building experiences that support the power of grassroots efforts of leaders and volunteers to take charge of the impact in their communities.
About
Born in Greeley, Colorado, in 2013, the What Works Conference has brought together hundreds of community leaders and change agents from every corner of the Americas to exchange and share knowledge, resources, strategies, solutions, and best practices for what works in community development. Over three days, attendees will learn, grow, connect, and find inspiration to make positive changes or gain further knowledge and skills to continue impacting through sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities.
Join Partners of the Americas in Lima, Peru, from February 19 to 21, 2025, for a unique conference that combines passion and need year’s Peace and Development, which recognizes Partners of the Americas’ distinctive approach to bringing the right mix of players – volunteers, development professionals, governments, civil society organizations, and higher education institutions – to the table to match resources, knowledge, and passion to need. Along this line, the peace and development theme underscores a commitment to exploring the integral relationship between peacebuilding and sustainable development. The What Works Conference will provide meaningful, authentic, and positive international collaboration and community-building experiences for attendees that support the power of grassroots efforts of leaders and volunteers to take charge of the impact in their communities.
Through partnerships and arrangements, the 2025 What Works Conference is supported by the Peru and Texas Chapters, the PartnersCampus Lambayeque Chapter, and Red Espaz Peru.

We invite you to join our journey that has transformed our lives, inspired our students, and updated our schools.
Our experiences are thanks to Partners of the Americas and iEARN: Learn with the World, international volunteer networks. iEARN was founded in 1988 during the Cold War as an experiment to connect schools in New York and Moscow. The goal was peacebuilding. Today, iEARN has members in 140 countries, with about 100 projects in different languages - including some 30 in Spanish. The projects cover all subjects, from art and music to virtual reality, all meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Importantly, these projects also allow educators to work with young people in extracurricular activities and Saturday classes.
The Partners Track: Collaborative Strategies for Sustainable Development

This workshop will explore the power of partnerships and collaboration within the Partners of the Americas network. We will use PartnersCampus and Traditional Chapters in the United States and Bolivia as case studies. In particular, the PartnersCampus Chapters at the University of Wyoming (UWYO) and the Universidad Mayor de San Simón (UMSS) in collaboration with Traditional Chapters in Wyoming, Colorado, and Cochabamba.
We will explore best practices for fostering equitable and inclusive partnerships. Through the aforementioned case studies, participants will learn how these chapters have effectively recruited and engaged members, creating a sustainable pathway from student involvement, promoting leadership, and inter-institutional collaboration at the local level of student and traditional chapters.
The session will recommend “The Partners Track,” which will provide practical strategies to ensure a transition from volunteerism to a long-term relationship with our organization and generate sustained impact. Join us to discover how community-driven approaches can bridge generational gaps, leverage local priorities, and create lasting change in international and community development.
