We are hiring two unpaid remote interns to help manage educational, scientific, and entrepreneurial exchanges across the Americas from January through May 2027.

Term: 5 months, January to May 2027
Hours: 15 hours per week, flexible schedule
Location: Remote, with occasional in-person events in the United States. The participant must be in Denver, CO, on April 10, 2027, and depart from Washington, DC, on April 20, 2027. COPoA is not responsible for domestic or international flights. COPoA will cover lodging with host families (if needed) and meals from April 10-20, 2027, as well as the flight from Denver, CO, to Washington, DC, on April 18, 2027, and from Washington, DC, to Denver, CO, on April 20, 2027 (if needed). *If a foreign national requires a visa, COPoA can provide an invitation letter. However, COPoA cannot guarantee a visa. The U.S. Consulate makes the decision.
Compensation: Unpaid
Spanish or Portuguese: Preferred, not required

About the Alliance
The STEAM Education Alliance of the Americas is a hemispheric network comprising students, teachers, researchers, universities, and civil society organizations from Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada, and the United States. It promotes collaboration across science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through exchange programs, research, innovation, and access to academic and professional opportunities.
The Colorado Chapter of Partners of the Americas hosts the Alliance. Recent programs include An Entrepreneurial Look Into the Sciences, which brought participants from Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru to DC, Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming. Learn more about the Alliance.
About the internship
The Colorado Chapter of Partners of the Americas is offering two unpaid Program Assistant internships with the STEAM Education Alliance of the Americas. Interns will work remotely 15 hours per week from January through May 2027 on a flexible schedule that accommodates academic and professional commitments.
What you will do
Support the planning and implementation of Alliance programs and exchanges
Assist with curriculum development and educational materials
Facilitate communication among partner universities, institutions, and organizations across the Americas
Help coordinate virtual and in-person educational exchanges, including logistics and participant communications
Translate and adapt materials between English and Spanish or Portuguese when your language skills allow
Help document program activities and impact for reports, the website, and social media platforms
Who we are looking for
Required
Background or strong interest in STEAM education, international collaboration, or youth engagement
Clear written and spoken communication in English
Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet deadlines within a remote team
Comfort with virtual collaboration tools, including video calls, shared documents, and email
Availability of 15 hours per week from January through May 2027
Preferred
It is preferred, but not required, that candidates speak and communicate fluently in Spanish or Portuguese. We encourage applicants who do not speak either language to apply.
Experience with science education programs, science clubs, environmental education, or similar initiatives
Experience with international or intercultural exchanges or research collaborations
Leadership or volunteer experience with youth organizations
Translation or interpretation experience
